Week 10: List 5 Things you Like About You
This week’s challenge was to list five things I like about myself. For me, this is a really hard challenge. Over the years, I have struggled with low self confidence and challenges like this have left me feeling like there is nothing. I challenged myself to really think hard and come up with five things, and I realized there were actually a lot of things I could put. So here are my top 5 things I like about myself.
1. I am determined
I am the type of person who works well under pressure. I am very deadline driven, and hate the idea of failure. This drive helps motivate me to reach goals I never thought I was capable of reaching. My determination motivates me to push through difficult times and I have been amazed at the things I’m able to accomplish.
2. I am organized
3. I am a loyal friend
They say good friends are hard to come by, and your best friends will stick with you through thick and thin. I have always considered myself to be a good friend to others, and help my friends in any way I can. Whether it’s sending a Valentine’s Day care package to them so they get something if they’re single, or just spending time talking about their problems, I am always willing to go the extra mile for my friends.
4. I find the joy in little things
One thing I’ve grown to love about myself over the years is just how much I enjoy the little things. This was really put to the test when we reduced our fun money from two separate funds down to one. This meant that each month, my Fiance and I had a small pool of money to share and once it was gone, it was gone. This meant that often times we had to learn to find the joy in things we already owned or in what was available to us. Whether it’s a pack of Annie’s cheddar bunnies, or a coloring book, you can bet that I’m going to find the most joy out of any activity that I can.
5. I am stubborn
This one might not sound like something to be grateful for, but my stubbornness has taken me a long way. I am often too stubborn to quit when things seem like they’re all working against me, making the victory all the more satisfying. I’m too stubborn to not go above and beyond on even the smallest tasks. My stubbornness has also helped me pursue a life I love and a job that I’m excited about everyday. While stubbornness can be a flaw, it is also my greatest asset.
