Week 7: A Friend #1
I met my best friend in my high school drama class. She was very shy, but had a secret outgoing side of her as well. I remember to this day exactly how we became friends. As you can imagine, since she was so shy, I was the one who made the first move. We became friends because I started talking to her and would not shut up. I can only imagine how annoying she must have thought I was when we first met. Thinking back to how I became friends with her got me to thinking about many of my other friends. Most of them have one thing in common, we met because I started talking to them for one reason or another and would not stop talking!
I’m so grateful for that day in drama class, because even though I talked her ear off that day, I can’t imagine how different my life would have been this past decade without her. This past year, her support has been an amazing blessing. From helping me plan my wedding, comforting me when I got fired from my day job, and even being a shoulder to cry on when I was beyond stressed, there aren’t even words to describe how happy I am to have her in my life.
This challenge has really made me realize how many wonderful people I have in my life who are a constant source of support and encouragement in all of my endeveours. I know just how lucky I am to have people like this in my life, and I am so grateful for them. If you are taking this challenge with me, I want to encourage you to take a moment and really think about the people in your life and how they have impacted your own life. Take a moment, and send them a quick text or give them a call and let them know how grateful you are to have them in your life.
