Week 9: How Did you Do and Feel?
While you might feel grateful for your family, friends, health, or even your life, it’s not always easy to know how to express your gratitude. This gratitude challenge has continued to test my abilities to express gratitude to others, and I’ll be the first to tell you, it’s hard! There are so many ways to express gratitude to others, here are a few ways you can express gratitude to others that will really help you out in this challenge.
- Write a thank you card or letter
- Do favors for them, just because
- Tell the people in your life how much your appreciate them
- Give them meaningful gifts to show them your appreciation
- Send flowers to them
- Bake them a homemade treat
- Help a person clean up
- Acknowledge the person publicly for what they’ve done for you
- Treat them to something they don’t normally get to do
Any of the things on this list are wonderful ways to show your loved ones gratitude. Even something as simple as a text can make a big difference. If you’re struggling to come up with the perfect way to show someone how much they mean to you, start with something from this list. While some of them may seem so simple, they really do make a world of difference.
When I am looking for a way to show my Fiance gratitude, some of my favorites include thanking him for the things he does around the house like cleaning our bathroom or vacuuming, and looking for ways to help him out even if it’s just refilling his cup with water. Think about the person you are trying to express gratitude toward, and find out which of these things would be most helpful. They might be very shy and wouldn’t appreciate being acknowledged in public, but they might really enjoy having help bringing in the groceries.
How do you show others gratitude?
